2 more stories on the corruption beat:

The Pentagon's inspector general could not determine if the White House interfered in a DoD contract to Amazon because Pentagon lawyers invoked a "presidential communications privilege"

And Burr, he of dodgy stock sale fame, did it again.

Sold his house, unlisted, to a lobbyist for an inflated price and used the proceeds to buy a beach house.

Now the North Carolina Republican’s 2017 sale of his Washington, D.C., home to a group led by a donor and powerful lobbyist who had business before Burr’s committee is raising additional ethical questions.

Burr sold the small townhouse, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, for what, by some estimates, was an above market price — $900,000 — to a team led by lobbyist John Green. That is tens of thousands of dollars above some estimates of the property’s value by tax assessors, a real estate website and a local real estate agent. The sale was done off-market, without the home being listed for sale publicly.

Trump threatens to invoke never-used authority

The President threatened to apply a provision of the Constitution to adjourn Congress and push through many of his nominees

President Donald Trump threatened Wednesday to apply a never-used provision of the US Constitution to allow himself to adjourn the US Congress and push through many of his nominees who typically require Senate confirmation.

The move came days after he claimed that he has total authority over the states before backing down.
"As the entire US government works to combat the global pandemic, it is absolutely essential that key positions at relevant federal agencies are fully staffed, and we're not allowing that to take place through our Congress," Trump told reporters in the Rose Garden during his daily coronavirus briefing. "They're just not giving it to us. We have many positions that are unstaffed because we can't get approval."

Trump said there were 129 nominees "stuck in the Senate because of partisan obstruction."

Anything and everything to get the spotlight off his failures.

Fox News reported on Wednesday that the virus originated in a Wuhan laboratory not as a bioweapon, but as part of China’s effort to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States.

This report and others have suggested the Wuhan lab where virology experiments take place and lax safety standards there led to someone getting infected and appearing at a nearby “wet” market, where the virus began to spread.

At a White House news conference Trump was asked about the reports of the virus escaping from the Wuhan lab, and he said he was aware of them.

“We are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation that happened,” he said.

Asked if he had raised the subject in his conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump said: “I don’t want to discuss what I talked to him about the laboratory, I just don’t want to discuss, it’s inappropriate right now.”

If they can access the webpage, they can order online (imagine the oppression of not going to home affairs )

And the bill is pretty generous...

The voter has one (1) of the following impediments to procure proof of 13 identification as defined in Section 23 of this Act: 14 a. Lack of transportation; 15 b. Inability to obtain his or her birth certificate or other documents 16 needed to show proof of identification; 17 c. Work schedule; 18 d. Lost or stolen identification; 19 e. Disability or illness; 20 f. Family responsibilities; 21 g. The proof of identification has been applied for, but not yet 22 received; or 23 h. The voter has a religious objection to being photographed.
That would cover just about everyone who legitimately doesn't have an ID.

24 (2) In addition to the requirements of subsection (1) of this section, to cast a ballot, 25 the voter who is unable to provide proof of identification shall provide to an 26 election officer: 27 (a) The voter's Social Security Card; 1 (b) Any identification card issued by a county in this state which has the name 2 of the voter stated and has been approved in writing by the State Board of 3 Elections pursuant to administrative regulations promulgated under KRS 4 Chapter 13A; 5 (c) Any identification card with the voter's photograph and the name of the 6 voter stated; 7 (d) Any food stamp identification card, electronic benefit transfer card, or 8 supplemental nutrition assistance card, that is issued by this state and has 9 the name of the voter stated; or 10 (e) A credit or debit card with the name of the voter stated. 11 (3) After the election officer obtains the affirmation from the voter required by 12 subsection (1) of this section, and after the voter provides the documents under 13 subsection (2) of this section, the voter shall sign the precinct signature roster 14 and shall proceed to cast his or her vote in a ballot completion area. 15 (4) If the voter is personally known to the election officer, the election officer may 16 execute an election officer affirmation, on a form prescribed and furnished by the 17 State Board of Elections pursuant to administrative regulations promulgated 18 under KRS Chapter 13A, affirming the voter's identification as being personally 19 known to him or her. Once the affirmation is executed by the election officer, the 20 voter shall sign the precinct signature roster and shall proceed to cast his or her 21 vote in a ballot completion area. For purposes of this subsection, "personally 22 known" means that the election officer knows the voter's name and that the voter 23 is a resident of the community. 24 (5) The voter affirmation and the election officer affirmations executed under this 25 section shall be processed in the same manner as an oath of voter affidavit as 26 prescribed by subsections (3) and (4) of Section 17 of this Act

So in other words, if you are a welfare recipient, you will be able to vote. But carry on crying hysteria.

Trump's big show will hide the real story

The President's make America open again campaign will deliver victory lap over the coronavirus pandemic that leaves the life and death decisions to others

"We're going to be announcing guidelines, and we'll be talking about various states, and it's very exciting," Trump said in another rambunctious Rose Garden news conference Wednesday.

"We will be the comeback kids, all of us, all of us. It's incredible, what's going on," Trump said. "Tomorrow is going to be a very big day ... We will have some openings that will ... exceed our expectations, and they will be safe."

I hold the psychologist Dr Todd Grande, who has an excellent YouTube channel, in very high regard. Here's a video where he argues against diagnosing Donald Trump with narcissistic personality disorder:

The point of his that I find most compelling, is that one must distinguish between a person's personality, and their persona, and with individuals who are in the public eye, the two are often not the same.

So whilst I think that Trump has many of the traits of narcissistic personality disorder, I will henceforth refrain from stating that he has narcissistic personality disorder, as I concede that I'm not in a position to make such a claim with scientific certainty. I can however state that he has a narcissistic persona, where the adjective "narcissistic" refers informally to certain personality traits of his that are clearly evident. It is like the difference between saying "I am depressed" versus "I have major depressive disorder".

Trump doesn't like being wrong. Do you know how many people on this forum have that "trait'....

a complex tic, is a language disorder characterized by the involuntary repetition of syllables, words, or phrases. It has features resembling other complex tics such as echolalia or coprolalia, but, unlike other aphasias, palilalia is based upon contextually correct speech.[2]

It was originally described by Alexandre-Achille Souques in a patient with stroke that resulted in left-side hemiplegia,[3]

There is nothing in the SA constitution that allows the ANC to do what they are doing. That is the exact opposite of the Trumpenfuherer who is apparently using an instrument of the constitution.

Trumpsland über alles, über alles in der Welt.
Stalin and his chickens.

During those final days of the collapsing Marxist experiment in the Soviet Union, Soviet novelist Chingiz Aitmatov retold the following story, which has been paraphrased here.

On one occasion, so it was narrated, Stalin called for a live chicken and proceeded to use it to make an unforgettable point before some of his henchmen. Forcefully clutching the chicken in one hand, with the other he began to systematically pluck out its feathers. As the chicken struggled in vain to escape, he continued with the painful denuding until the bird was completely stripped. “Now you watch,” Stalin said as he placed the chicken on the floor and walked away with some bread crumbs in his hand. Incredibly, the fear-crazed chicken hobbled toward him and clung to the legs of his trousers. Stalin threw a handful of grain to the bird, and it began to follow him around the room, he turned to his dumbfounded colleagues and said quietly, “This is the way to rule the people. Did you see how that chicken followed me for food, even though I had caused it such torture? People are like that chicken. If you inflict inordinate pain on them they will follow you for food the rest of their lives.”

That means McConnell would likely have to bring senators back to Washington to vote to adjourn in order to create the "disagreement" cited in the Constitution that would provide the grounds for Trump to act. The Senate, like the House, is out of Washington due to concern over the safety of lawmakers amid the pandemic.

Why can't they meet over the internet?

Lone Watchdog Demands Federal Reserve Release Names of Corporations Receiving Taxpayer Bailouts

The lone watchdog on a congressional committee formed to oversee the Trump administration's handling of a multi-trillion-dollar coronavirus bailout package demanded Wednesday that the Federal Reserve release to the public both the names of corporations receiving taxpayer bailout money and details on how the funds are being used.

"The public deserves to know which companies are receiving taxpayer-backed lending through the Fed and on what terms, and to be able to monitor what those companies do after receiving taxpayer support," Bharat Ramamurti, thus far the only person who has been appointed to the newly created Congressional Oversight Commission, wrote in a letter to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

Why do conservatives not care about oversight until there's a Democrat in office? Where are the TeaPot Party now? Where is Sarah Palin?

Where are the Trumpets on MyBB opposing this?

Oh, that's right, they'd rather post articles about m'uh MSM.
