Us iTunes account

So I finally bought my first apple hardware, and I was told to rather get a us iTunes account and use vouchers to buy apps.

The issue I'm having is that there is no longer the 'none' option as a payment method on the iTunes signup form.

Has anyone else had this problem when creating a us iTunes account recently ?

The only thing that I haven't tried is to hide my ipaddress on my adsl when signing up maybe they are geo locating signup addresses now.

Any thoughts ?

It's there are you sure you selected a free app?

Not so sure about buying apps with vouchers, but if you want to "buy" free apps without a credit card, signup using this

If you select a free app, you should have the "none" option.

The store has changed quite a bit since that blog post was written, but you can still sign up without a payment method. I did this very recently and it still works.

Well, I used that blog method last Saturday to signup for my 1st iTunes account, same screens and instructions as in the blog, works 100%

Don't worry about the "none" option. Just buy a US iTunes gift card and when creating your account leave the option on credit card/visa (whatever it is) and insert the gift card voucher number in the box below that Tada - account created

Oh yes, and your best bet for vouchers is probably Maximus Cards (just google them)
