Evening!

I searched for this and struggled to find anything conclusive on the forum. I wonder if anybody has a decent, tested guide on how they are managing to watch US Netflix in SA? I understand how to do it but I am struggling to actually do it and the first hurdle is signing up for the US Netflix account.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks!

From what I remember (did this years ago), you don't need to signup for US Netflix to access it. You can signup with a normal SA account and use a VPN to get a US IP for example, then the catalogue will change accordingly. I was using NordVPN when doing this, had to use their propriety software client (and enable a specific setting in the client that I can't remember now) to get it to work.

I use IvacyVPN.

Have a MacMini hooked up to my Lounge TV and log in through that.

One of these days I’m going to figure out how to get this working on my router.

It's easy with a smart dns service - I've got two DNS addresses instead of the defaults and two static routes blocking 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8.

And that's pretty much it. There's a dynamic dns entry in there as well but you can just as easily update your IP manually.

I’m just lazy.

Thanks I will give that a try!

What do they have on US netflix that we dont get here?

A LOT! Due to licensing in certain countries the library is quite limited here, we probably get 30% of what the US gets.

Do you get The Orville? (trying to find that)

Checked out the trailer - looks good. I am of the opinion Avenue 5 is much better & funnier though. Both series not available on netflix unfortunately

I gave up on this, too many hoops and loops to jump through.

Go to getflix dot com dot au

Signup for their SmartDNS... it’s roughly R80 per month

Change the DNS/IPv4 on your router or machines

Watch US Netflix

I’ve never considered it “too many hoops” at all.

Works with express vpn. They have a 30day money back guarantee, so you can use it for a month and see if you like it before you commit. On the pricey side, but lots of servers all over and different options per region. Had a problem trying to setup on Samsung smart tv, but works like a charm with PS3 and also fire tv 4K.

Did you download Nord to the Firestick?

Then run Nord and select region?
