US Netflix in SA

Honestly I don't know why people go though all the effort of doing it via VPN. A couple settings on the router and my entire house is covered. Everyone can watch what they want on what ever device they want to.

Exactly, and it give you access to a boatload more services that we as South Africans aren't privy to.

Why would I have no thumbnails on all devices's netflix after using smartdnsproxy?

Happens sometimes with a slow connection. Goes away on it's own in my experience. Have you blocked any routes on your router?

Ok it just took a while to properly index, all seems fine now. I see nowhere how to block routes on my Xiaomi Mi router.

Does this influence your DStv now access at all?

Windscribe also works to watch USA Netflix .

You can build your own plan from as little as $2 p/m

Just make sure you select "Windflix US" and "R.O.B.E.R.T." .

Both cost $1 per month.

This allows unlimited bandwidth and USA Netflix.

I could have sworn I posted about Windscribe in this very same thread yesterday?

Agree, I saw a post here and based on the info got Winscribe.

When I checked this thread again before I posted I saw no such a post, thought I saw it somewhere else.

Strange.

It may have been moderated but I don’t know why.

I put an affiliate link in but I made a clear warning of it. If that was a problem a simple edit would suffice.

A note to say it’s been moderated would also have been nice.

Maybe it really was another thread? I don’t see it in my history though.

Do you know if windscribe is capable of 4k streams off Netflix?

Because Smart Dns only allows you to watch the US version of Netflix and is also unreliable. If Smart Dns gets blocked by Netflix then theres nothing you can do whereas a vpn always has new servers to circumvent the block. With a vpn you are not restricted to us netflix you can watch various different countries catalogues including uk, german, japanese, canadian, australian etc. This gives you access to way more content. A vpn also lets you watch other streaming services like disney plus and hulu

Apart from repeating yourself your info is fairly inaccurate. Smart DNS services are very reliable. Any downtime is infrequent and usually fixed in a matter of hours.

They let you watch for example Hulu, Disney, BBC, et al simultaneously. IOW I can be watching BBC (thats from the UK) and my wife can be watching Hulu (USA) and my kids can be watching Showmax (RSA). Not something you can easily do directing all your traffic to one country at a time via a VPN.

And FWIW services like Getflix and SmartDNS also come with a VPN included in the price tag.

Bear with me please.
You enter the dns of your smart dns in your router, which replaces the dynamic dns for your isp?
Does the smart dns ips cover both us and uk, or do you have different dns for us and for uk?
