Then let’s deal in facts.

Murder is a felony. Fact.
Drug charges are a felony. Fact

Illegal immigration is a misdemeanor. Fact. The only way to make it a felony is to return illegally *after* a deportation.

In Texas, other misdemeanors include DWI and disorderly conduct and most are penalised with fines.

You’re making a case that a guy being separated from his family... in prison... guilty of murder... is the same as someone being separated from their family ‘cos they were over the limit and got a fine.

Hypocrisy much?
The snopes article everyone keeps bringing up. Illegally entering the country carries a 6 months prison sentence.

Yes and? It carries a prison sentence. Do you know of any family jails that can accommodate children.

That's just how it works. I personally would like more of a catch and release program were they release the people back on their side of the border. And not waste 6 months of taxpayers money on them. (just my opinion, not my tax money so I don't really have a say)

I’m just pointing out that all misdemeanors have a chance of jail time.....

Avenatti says he's representing whistleblowers within ICE

"We are now representing whistleblowers within ICE, outside contractors, etc. They have reached out to us to provide us with info as to what is really going on," Avenatti tweeted.

"We are going to blow this wide open and take the info to the American people so they can decide what happens next."

Republitards should love this right? They're always going on about Obama and whistleblowers.

Sinclair forced its TV stations to air pro-Trump propaganda on family separation

Sinclair regularly forces its 193 local stations to air a segment by former Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn. His most recent segment (flagged by Media Matters) took on the family separation crisis on the border that has dominated the news for several days. The crisis was sparked by the Trump administration’s recent decisions to jail asylum-seeking parents for illegally crossing the border, which led to their children being separated into detention centers.

Sinclair currently owns 193 stations, which reach 39 percent of US viewers. It might soon reach 72 percent of Americans if its purchase of Tribune Media goes through.

Both the American Civil Liberties Union and the right-leaning Parents Television Council have asked the Federal Communications Commission to reject the Tribune deal.

“The merger’s result will be more uniform content, controlled from a distant corporate office,” the ACLU’s filing said.

The jacket is bait to see if the 'change the media cycle' fish are biting... It's all staged. Wanna know how I know? Check out this pic from the detention facility (which wasn't really a facility, rather a home that's been operating for a while, and only had six migrant kids).

Look closely, remind yourself that this was a "surprise" visit, and when you see it...

The US was a powerful ally of Israel's within that council, the US may think it doesn't matter but there is obvious concern that despite it's huge flaws and obvious hypocrisy - that the Human rights council does in fact have some influence in world affairs and could negatively affect Israel if all their proposals go through unchallenged..

Strange, considering they're not even members:

https://www.ohchr.org/EN/HRBodies/HRC/Pages/CurrentMembers.aspx

Having said that, looking at some of the countries on the list (Saudi Arabia?!), I'm not sure they've properly defined what human rights are meant to be.

Whats the alternative? Kick them out? Not sure that will reform them.

This somewhat misses the point of UN agencies and the UN in general.

The founding principle is that it's better to have a forum that actually brings these actors to the table than isolate them.

Oh no, looks like Pitbull was citing fake news.

What a shock.

Ya ok but that ignores the manner and way in which its done, which i think is the gripe with most people.

The manner, but also the fact that they do it for first time misdemeanor issues. I'm curious whether Arthur thinks we should indefinitely tear children away from parents who get caught not wearing their seatbelt, or who jaywalks.

Yep, staggeringly cynical.

@FLOTUS spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham when asked what message the first lady's jacket intends to send: "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope this isn't what the media is going to choose to focus on."
