Yes, the common sense would be to help uplift those countries with trade incentives, but then Trump goes for a short term vision of America First. It is in the interest if the USA to ensure those countries economy is improving for the long term - but that is to much for that idiot Trump to understand.

Accusations of racism aren't difficult to prove in Trump's case.
Accusations of rape - not sure I ever did that, but there's plenty of sexual harassment allegations, plus his own grab-bragging recorded on tape.
Accusations of homophobia - Well the Trump administration's attack on transgender rights probably does qualify as homophobia. It's hard to see how it can be otherwise. I don't think Trump is particularly homophobic, but Pence and AG Sessions are explicitly so.

But even so it's the same story. Just because nothing comes of the criticisms of Trump, doesn't make them invalid. It just means his followers don't care enough to do something about it.

Have no issue with keeping them out with force if they storm the border. (non lethal), have plenty of issues with shooting them all if they are not armed.

Must they shake hands? Who will be to blame if they attack and harm American's? When time comes I am sure you probably would agree with cerebus that they should be welcomed, booked in hotels and be given green cards?
If Trump let this slide or even shows one ounce of compassion then expect within weeks there would be another caravan of 2000000+ approaching the border.
