Trump pardons ranchers in case that inspired 2016 occupation

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has pardoned two ranchers whose case sparked the armed occupation of a national wildlife refuge in Oregon.

Dwight and Steven Hammond were convicted in 2012 of intentionally and maliciously setting fires on public lands. The arson crime carried a minimum prison sentence of five years, but a sympathetic federal judge, on his last day before retirement, decided the penalty was too stiff and gave the father and son much lighter prison terms.

Prosecutors won an appeal and the Hammonds were resentenced in October 2015 to serve the mandatory minimum.

I'm not sure why you think these events aren't politically relevant, or what your constant orbiting around the MSM signifies.

Testimony: “When I first spoke with ICE officers, they told us, ‘Why did you come from your country?’, ‘Don’t you know that we hate you people?’, ‘We don’t want you in our country.’

1) I'm not too clued up on US MSM apart from CNN and the human centipede of Trumpian servility and propaganda that is Fox News

Why do you think they are? Keeping in mind it was already pointed out that the CNN one is mostly fake news.

Definitely. MSM publishing straight up political BS just pushes more and more people to read real news like Breitbart.

No. Would he be breaking the law by pardoning murderers and rapists who haven't served much of their terms? Would you be fine with that? :crylaugh:
