I hand the mic to Rand Paul:

Performative nonsense over substance? Yes, that's Rand Paul for you.

Same guy that claims to care about criminal justice reform, but eagerly voted for the most obvious anti-reform candidate as AG.

Tax cuts are not the problem.
It is the spending.

I agree, although you gotta cut spending before you cut taxes.

Actually, tax cuts are part of the problem. The idea that rich people pay too much tax in the US is absurd.

Their spending habits are stupid, though. They could spend the same and get much better outcomes.

I was talking about tax cuts in general, tax cuts are great if you can balance the budget. As you say their spending habits are stupid and inefficient so effectively there should be room for tax cuts.

Wherein the president expresses the belief that the official death toll number is fake, while at the same time making 3000 deaths as a result of a hurricane and it's aftermath, a Democrat plot to hurt him.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000...

Donald J. Trump‏
@realDonaldTrump

.....This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!

Following @Stonekettle

When you believe the earth is 6000 years old, 2 of every kind of animal lived within walking distance of Noah's house, and the Russians did NOT interfere in our elections... ...believing 3000 Americans died to make Trump look bad is easy.

Seriously, Jim Wright (Stonekettle) makes it worth clicking on that Twitter Follow button. His blog is really good too.

So this is still happening, just in case anyone was wondering:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/09/detained-migrant-children-record.html

A new report from the New York Times has found that, despite the Trump administration’s efforts under a court order to release hundreds of children who were separated from their families at the border, the number of migrant children being held in federal shelters has surged to a new record, straining the facilities nearly to capacity.

Those numbers, however, have more to do with a backlog of cases of children—primarily teenagers from Central America—who arrived on their own at the border and are awaiting a parent or sponsor. According to the Times, there were 12,800 children in custody by September. In May 2017, there were 2,400.

:sick::sick:

Whataboutobamaisms incoming...

What is Trump's obsession with lying when it comes to anything to do with 9/11?

He tweeted this photo on 11 September, with the words:
Departing Washington, D.C. to attend a Flight 93 September 11th Memorial Service in Shanksville, Pennsylvania with Melania.

Except its clear that the photo was not taken on the day. Omorosa is visible in the picture, plus it shows a sunny day in DC, but in reality it was a cloudy day in Washington on Sep 11.

Shame, here you'd better huff on this real quick. Sorry you came so close to reading a CNN article:

LOL. Remember that one time cerebus posted a video of Gina Loudon on Hannity as a an antidote to Tman's CNN allergy?

Well...

You can't make this up...

But...

Trump Adviser Gina Loudon’s Book Claims She Has a Ph.D. in Psychology. She Doesn’t.

Gina Loudon, the Republican commentator and author, recently declared that she has scientific evidence that Donald Trump might be the “most sound-minded” president in history. It’s a claim that might carry more weight if her new book didn’t falsely describe her as having a doctorate in psychology.

Loudon, who worked as a surrogate for the Trump campaign and frequently appears on the airwaves to defend the president, obtained a Ph.D in a field called “human and organization systems” from an online school called Fielding Graduate University.

Loudon, 58, who often refers to herself as “Dr. Gina,” does not have a psychology degree or license.

Complete asside, but Al Roker season on cable news is bizarre... Okay, it's just me that calls it Al Roker season, but *every single* cable news channel sends squads of reporters to broadcast live from right inside a goddamn hurricane.

It's still only the outer bands of Florence hitting the Carolinas but some of these poor fools are soaked through and struggling to stay on their feet...

Meh. Anyone on twitter has such a short attention span they'll probably forget why they destroyed their stuff and go and buy new nike stuff next week.
Am I unique? I have never purchased, owned or used any Nike gear. it is nothing to do with near slave labour: I just don't like it.
