I was working under the assumption that the US postal service actually worked as the letter was dated 30 June, clearly that is not the case. So that part I can understand.

It's dated 30 July, not June.

Delays don't bother me. If there was corroborating evidence in this matter, it would have been necessary to delay the vote. And please, if the Democrats get the majority, we are guaranteed to see 4 years of delays for any candidate to the right of Garland.

Would be a pity if they started doing what McConnell has been doing, huh?

Before him, both parties confirmed way more of the opposing party's nominees.

You should read the context of what Biden said. It was much later in the year (i.e. closer to the election), there was no vacancy, no nominee, and he didn't say it should wait until after a new president gets in - he said until after the election itself, i.e. the same president would still make the nomination.

Been watching the hearings and cannot believe how blatantly biased and pre-decided the Dem members are. Each one went off on a long speech praising her and telling her how they believed her. Really??? before the hearing is finished?? In a court it would be a mistrial.

Havent got there yet! Its a whole 9 hrs of bloody video

You must have missed Republican senators saying before the hearing had even started that it didn't matter what she said, they'd confirm him anyway. :)

Flake is the cover for the others... Murkowski was with him immediately, but expect Susan Collins to hold her hand out for a, "watcha gonna give me Mitch?" action any moment now.

EDIT: In a weird way, I think this suits Mitch.
If the FBI investigation helps Kav, Mitch might even get red state dems to vote for him and he can say I told you so... If the FBI blow Kav out, Mitch just dodged the next two years of what will surely be State charges and court cases, as well as any other women coming forward.

I think this is right. A rushed, week-long probe is unlikely to turn up much new, especially if witnesses are uncooperative. It's an absurd deadline (set against a completely made up deadline, for obvious reasons) for a lifetime appointment.

What it does do is give red state Dems and dopes like Flake a reason to say 'well, we tried', and vote yes as they were planning to anyway.

Quite a chart.

I actually think there's a fair chance Kav's nomination won't happen now. He's incredibly toxic to the GOP. They got to do their performance outrage art for an audience of Trump but it would be a pyrrhic victory to vote him in, given his popularity and the proximity of the midterms

You do know it was ALWAYS going to be voted on by the committee only on Friday right? The floor only on Monday, the floor vote is the thing that's been delayed, the committee vote is concluded, in favour of Kavanaugh, and did happen on Friday.

Which one of those three facts do you imagine is "fake"?

Probably this from your link

With the Senate Judiciary Committee holding a vote at 9:30 A.M. tomorrow, a Senate insider has told Townhall that Kavanaugh has the votes to make it out of committee and the votes to be confirmed on the floor for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Sens. Flake (R-AZ), Collins (R-ME), Murkowski (R-AK), and Manchin (D-WV) are expected to vote in favor of Kavanaugh. All the Republicans are voting yes. Also, in the rumor mill, several Democrats may break ranks and back Kavanaugh. That’s the ball game, folks.

Maybe. As that polling collation that I posted above shows, it's not getting better...

So it is public knowledge that the committee vote was scheduled for 9:30, moved on the day to 13:30. They did indeed have the votes to move it to the floor, which they did. All the republicans, on the committee, did vote yes.

Whether they have the floor votes has not been proven or disproven. Nothing fake here, merely a little over-enthusiasm in saying "that's the ballgame", because THAT never happens in MSM sources. Just take a look at the polls OD keeps jizzing over ...

Im willing to cede on your point regarding the committee and floor votes but i still maintain the overall tone, jumping the gun and loosely appropriate term fake news, this still fits that category. Take this for example:

Once again: we win, and the Democrats lose, which means it’s a great day for America. Justice Kavanaugh is another move Making America Great Again.

So yeah forgive me if i don't believe their bias won't get in the way of the truth.

Judge Denies Trump’s Request to Dismiss Foreign Payments Lawsuit

Judge Sullivan dismissed the Justice Department’s claim that the legislators did not have standing to sue and denied its request to dismiss the lawsuit.

“The court finds that the plaintiffs have standing to sue the president for allegedly violating the Foreign Emoluments Clause,” Judge Sullivan wrote in his opinion. Mr. Trump “has neither asked for their consent nor provided them with any information about the prohibited foreign emoluments he has already allegedly accepted.”

More Brett Kavanaugh Classmates Are Saying He Lied to Congress

At Thursday’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh told a story—under oath—about himself. Facing a credible allegation of sexual assault from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who preceded him testifying before the committee, Kavanaugh sought to construct a sort of reputational buffer. He drank, but never to the point where it affected his memory. He had inside jokes with his male friends, but not in a way that was demeaning to women. He enjoyed a lively social calendar, but church always came first. He could not, in other words, have drunkenly assaulted Ford at a casual get-together in the summer of 1982.

Kavanaugh’s story places a big premium on those things being true, which means it’s really important if they’re not. As we pointed out at the time, some of what Kavanaugh said appeared to be flatly contradicted by what other acquaintances have said on the record, and in one case, by what his own lawyer had said. (His insistence that teenage drinking was legal in Maryland at the time he was in high school, is in his case simply false.) On Friday night the New York Times offered fresh evidence that Kavanaugh “crafted responses that were misleading, disputed or off point”—particularly when it came to his time at in high school at Georgetown Prep and college years at Yale University.

Several classmates at Yale had already told the paper about Kavanaugh’s drinking, including his freshman year roommate and a friend, Elizabeth Swisher. Kavanaugh disputed their accounts during his testimony, but the Times found yet another classmate who corroborated what they said:

“I definitely saw him on multiple occasions stumbling drunk where he could not have rational control over his actions or clear recollection of them,” said Daniel Lavan, who lived in Mr. Kavanaugh’s dorm freshman year. “His depiction of himself is inaccurate.”

The Times also spoke with high school classmates who disputed Kavanaugh’s characterization of an entry in his yearbook that described him as a “Renate Alumnus“—a reference to a woman at a nearby high school. When the woman, Renate Schroeder Dolphin, discovered the reference recently—in more than a dozen of Kavanaugh’s classmates’ yearbook entries—she was horrified, because the implication seemed pretty clear: a crude boast of sexual conquests. Kavanaugh’s lawyer initially told the Times that his entry referred to simply having taken Renate to an event and shared a kiss. (Something Dolphin denies ever happened.)

At the hearing, Kavanaugh said the yearbook entries were their way of showing affection for their good friend, and that there was nothing sexual in nature. But the Times spoke to four classmates who disputed that narrative, and alleged “that Judge Kavanaugh and his friends often made disrespectful sexual comments about Ms. Dolphin, and that the understanding at the time was that the many yearbook references to her were boasts about sexual conquests.”

There’s more to the piece, which you can read in full here. And Thursday’s testimony wasn’t the first time Kavanaugh appears to have misled Congress. As my colleagues Pema Levy and Dan Friedman reported earlier this month, Kavanaugh made a series of false statements during his initial confirmation hearings.

GOP love themselves a liar. How stupid do you have to be to lie about inconsequential things when you're trying to cover up bigger lies?
