I'm currently in the process of getting an Australian passport and despite me being born there, I'm not entitled to a passport until I get a citizenship certificate!

And you're cool with that process are you? Personally I think citizenship requirements to the US are already a complete PITA, speaking from firsthand experience. For me to bring my family into the country on my passport would be a nightmare, especially my wife. It's a major deterrent to moving back, being quite honest.
