My opinion? 2 reasons

1. The riots "touched them on their studio". The politicians and those who can call in the troops were spooked, so they are doing a knee jerk reaction for their own protection.
2. The world is watching DC more than anywhere else today, so may as well make sure it's a nice ceremony where no-one is hanged (hung? Can a grammar nazi please confirm the correct wording for hanging someone in past tense)

Because 2020 and 6/1/2021 has shown just how violent America has become when politics are not going your way.

Of course there are politics in play as well. It wasn't good business to deploy the NG against BLM and Antifa in Portland last year, but it is very good business to deploy the NG against fringe Trumpers.

What's that got to do with turning thousands of the NG into US Marshalls? What can US Marshalls do which the NG cannot, that you believe is needed in DC?
 
Well let's see how how the next 4 years go. All the dem supporters here seem very confident that Harris, Killary Clinton, skelator Pelosi etc will do a bang up job with there puppet elect Biden.
