The first mistake this officer made was responding to the call out.

Should have just ignored the radio call and gone to his normal doughnut store and relax.

Its safer that way for him.

US Democrat party is Centre/Moderate on most issues. Slightly left. No extreme left, but the extreme left probably votes for them. Don't think they have any far left candidates...

100% not going for Brazil/SA look and feel.

SA/Brazil are violent 3rd World countries. Perhaps only the extreme left, extreme right could go that route; but highly unlikely.

Besides left and right, they are extremely corporate based and elitist; where large concentrations of wealth shape their public policy. Also extremely unlikely for them to sway the route of Brazil/SA, since it'll reduce profits (which they care about most). Interesting stat, for all of US history, the party with the most campaign finances has won the election.

In simple yes/no. It would be 'no'.

However, these riots are getting a little out of hand. The climate would need to stabilize a little before the left/right will try rope in those voters. Would be political suicide taking a big stance right now. It's a little on the verge of 'out-of-control', but not too much so to destabilize their democracy.
High risk, little reward.
