USB numeric keypad to Macbook

I'm trying to connect an external number keypad to my MacBook air M1 to use in excel. I chose the ANSI keypad but when in excel the numbers punch in but then disappear. anyone know the work around to this? I have tons of number inputting to do. The numbers seem to stay when I'm typing them in on the browser but just not excel

yes but Im not familar with numbers, only excel

Google Sheets is similar to the old 2003 Excel perhaps try that.

So the problem is inside Excel then.

You need to fix it there.
