Useful N80 information

Blue light

Yes, that's correct. The blue light indicates that power saving mode is activated. It is irritating in a dark room at night.
De-activating powersaving mode will switch the light off, but will decrease battery time.
 
Did Nokia know blue is the most piercing colour in the dark? I mean, if it was a green LED, you would barely see it. The blue is bright enough to wake me up at night :-/ *sigh*

I don't think I could cope with decreased battery life. With 3G on (i like it for WAP and video calls), bluetooth on for carkit and PC syncronization - the phone lasts a day.
 
If the blue light bothers you that much .... give your N80 to me :D I just love blue lights ... and space ships too! :D

What is, N80 PDS?

Broken1 just turn your phone on it's face and you will not see the blue light.

With my plastic cover thing, the WHOLE phone flashes bright blue. Gives me such a fright.

My trick is to open and close the phone, and I'm usually asleep before it goes to sleep :-)

w00t I just got my N80! :cool: Must say it looks way better in black than silver, but that's my personal preference. Anyway I'm off to play with it!

I was told by some channels I cannot choose the color.... :rolleyes:
 
Took it with Autopage, they seemed to offer the best deal. I asked them what colours they had, they said black and silver. So I told them to send the black, too many silvers around anyway :D

Autopage.... hhhmmmm.... lots of people didn't like them from what I read in a thread last week or before...

On my investigations they also seemed the cheapest...

but apparently according to the peeps they be full of **** with changes and contracts, admin stuff basically, IIRC
 
OK I need some help from an N80 fundi (mohammedm, GTi, anyone else) :D I need to transfer all my pictures, videos and smses through from my old phone (6230) without doing the bluetooth thing and sending them one by one.

I sort of want to sync it in the same way that I could transfer all the contacts i.e. all at once. Is there any way?

Yeah MTN. I'm also not very fond of them but I figure that I've been with them for the past 6 years so I may as well continue for another year or so until it becomes cheaper to cancel the contract. They do bullsh!t at times, but I have to admit that their rates (calls and sms) are still cheaper than Nashua.

Haven't really tried this but what about the following:
1. Connect your 6230 to your PC using the data cable. Explore the 6230 using Nokia PC Suite (if this doesn't work, try a third party app e.g. Oxygen). Copy all the info you need onto your hard drive.

2. Then connect your N80 via the data cable, use PC Suite to transfer the info - or even better, slot your miniSD card into a card reader - much faster.
