Useful N80 information

OK I need some help from an N80 fundi (mohammedm, GTi, anyone else) :D I need to transfer all my pictures, videos and smses through from my old phone (6230) without doing the bluetooth thing and sending them one by one.

I sort of want to sync it in the same way that I could transfer all the contacts i.e. all at once. Is there any way?

Have a look in your manual, it describes how to do this.

Managed to get everything transferred using PC Suite except for the messages. According to the log, they were backed up from the old phone, but when restoring the backup to the new one everything transferred except for the smses and mmses. Any ideas anyone?

It's stored in phone memory. Using PC Suite I can view the messages and even copy them to a folder on the HD. The problem comes when trying to copy from the folder back onto the N80, it doesn't allow that.

Does the 6230 have a memory card and is it the same as the mini sd card in the N80? You see I did not have a 6230 so I don't know much about the fone, I can help with the N80 anytime but the 6230, it's a blur.

The smses are normally stored in the sim,but go into messaging_settings_other and check to where your texts are stored phone or simcard.Mohammedm and others interested did you see Nokia new super N95,with 5 megapixels camera carls lens and autofocus plus 160 MB internal memory.cool phone:http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n95-1716.php

Another cool link I found in this forum is: http://www.mobile-review.com/articles/2006/nokia-openstudio-ny-en.shtml

Yes, I saw the N95. I will like to get my hands on one, but realistically it will only be in SA mid to late next year. That is to long to wait after announcement, much like the SE990i. The N95 may be outdated by then. Anyway, not even thinking about replacing my N80 - it is bound to last until end of next year when I am due for an upgrade.

Yeah this phone is gonna last for a while.

PS: Thanks for those links in the first post! The Alienware theme is awesome, and the blue text and highlights compliments the blue lights of the phone nicely, especially if the phone is black. The firefox black theme is nice as well.

PPS: Managed to get the sms thing sorted out. Needed to save the smses onto my hard drive, create a new folder on the N80 memory card, and then transfer it to the folder. It doesn't appear in the inbox but at least it's on the phone. Thanks for all the ideas guy.

well yes there is insurance.. but there is also excess.. and there is also rent a car for the time being.. all sucking up bucks!
