Has anyone tried to restore a system backup using Acronis True Image Home 2010 with Acronis Universal Restore after making a hardware change such as replacing the motherboard or graphics card?

It would be great if I could just use my old system backup and import the necessary drivers such as the graphics drivers without performing a clean install.

Which OS are you using? System image restores normally work well with 2000, XP, and 2003 if you do a repair. Windows 2008 does not have a repair option, and I assume that Win 7 may have a similar problem....

I'm using Windows 7 and it cannot be restored after a major hardware change like XP could by performing few tweaks.

But I have tested using Acronis to get the job done and I have managed to restore a Windows 7 image made with Acronis True Image Home with a completely new motherboard and graphics card by just leaving the flash drive with the MB and graphics card drivers plugged in the USB slot and selecting Acronis Universal Restore.
