Using Mtn sim with 8ta dongle/modem

Oops. Could a mod perhaps correct the title ?

Hi. Could someone advise me on what steps I need to take to use my mtn sim on an 8ta dongle. I had no problems previously with doing this on a friends dongle. Also 8ta confirmed the modem is not locked. The dongle does not recognise the sim card. I tried downloading mdma and it still does not recognise the sim card.

What settings do I need to use for mtn ? Do I need to delete the 8ta user interface first ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The same settings. Sure mdma doesn't recognise SIM card, or doesn't see modem? What brings Device info button?
Make sure to unload other dashboard from the memory before starting mdma. It shouldn't show on systray.

Yeah it doesn't recognise the sim on mdma. The dongle works fine with 8ta or vodacom. I ever went to mtn and got a new sim card and that isn't recognised either. Very strange. Hardware/dongle issue ?

If it does recognise modem, then what is response to "Device info" button?
