Using PayPal can pay

B/B Rock man, i started using it before I was even 18 and I have never been ripped.

After a disagreement with PayPal they have limited my account (can't withdraw or add) so I've unlinked my account from FNB and won't be using PayPal ever again. I'll rather go back to receiving funds via wire transfer and pay the R 100 Forex fee.

LOL! "Stop with them negative vibes" I cannot believe how people complain on MyADSL.

It happens more often than you think and Paypal does not protect us from the scumbags like they should.

The only people who make money out of Paypal, are Paypal.

This is an unfortunate but normal part of any credit card payment service, it's not special to PayPal. We sell software online, we get chargebacks issued for a percentage of our customers even when we have absolute proof that they successfully installed and activated our software. Some people are scum, sh*t happens, work it into your business model and stop whining. That's just life when it comes to business. It happens to every seller of anything on the planet, ever. One reason PayPal (nor any payment service) can not fully protect you from this is that you get scumbag sellers too. If it was true that the only people who made money thanks to PayPal were PayPal then nobody would use it. Are they perfect? No, far from it, because they need competition, but as long as we all keep crying for government over-regulation in finance we won't get that competition. In the meantime, they provide a useful service to many people. I don't PayPal makes money from fraudulent chargebacks, it goes back to the scumbags. This hurts PayPal's business - you honestly think they don't try keep it to a minimum?

I'm more pissed with FNB right now though --- there is no PayPal option in our online banking like their website claims there should be, and I sent them a support request weeks ago to enquire, and they simply ignored it completely.

Make sure that your 'online profile' for the cheque account in question has been activated. For example, it's possible to link your business cheque account to your personal online profile and in the process not activate your business online profile. Once I had my cheque account moved onto my business online profile, and then had that profile activated, the PayPal option became available.

<I'm not certain of the exact terminology, but I think it's something like that :)>

I am really not impressed with Paypal and their policies.

So I went to the trouble of openeing an account at FNB, getting the necessary plastic and opening a second paypal account. My first one is registered to my house on Mud Island.

I then switched two of our hotspots over to use this paypal account.

I had about R900 worth of transactions go through without any problems when a lady from the uSA logs in, buys R45 worth of bandwidth, browses the internet and stops when her session comes to an end.

While she's logged in and doing her thing I get a "transaction review" email from Paypal. They've taken the money from my paypal account and are holding it in a suspense account while they review the transaction. My options were to provide "proof of postage" of the service I've delivered or lose the money.

Needless to say, despite a number of unanswered emails and two chat sessions with what appear to be robots, I lost the R45 and this person got to browse the interweb for free.

I should have my netcash account sorted and all the hotspots moved over before the event that we can't mention.

Paypal legalise theft.

Thanks for sharing that, it will save alot of people alot of headache in future. It seems this person prolly laid a complaint with paypal that the service was not delivered. Do you have her details to name and shame her? As for that football earth mug tournament we cant mention... rofl...

I don't have a problem with Paypal. Its amazing how everyone was bitching when we didn't have Paypal, now when we have it,the bitching continues.

That's like saying 'they all look the same to me'.
Those who are happy with paypal are using it and feel no need to vent their joy. They are still out there, but it's different people complaining in here... is that a reasonable explanation?
