Let's say I have pc 1 in a room connected to the router using telkom as isp and I want to setup pc 2 in another room with adsl connecting via the wifi on the telkom router. The range between the two pc is about 15 meter with a couple walls inbetween. I want pc 2 to pay for it's own bandwith, say another telkom 3gig account.

I don't have a wifi card yet for pc 2. I scanned for the router using the wifi on a psp sitting in front of pc 2. I got a signal strength of 15%.

Here is my questions.

1. Will I get a stronger signal with a wifi pci card or wifi usb stick as I got with the psp?

2. What is the minimal signal strength for good connection?

3. Can pc 2 then use it's own adsl account without affecting pc 1?.(at the same time)

4. Pc 2 will be doing some online gaming, will the ping be higher using the wifi?

5. What wifi pci card or usb wifi is recommended?

1. yes with a pci card you should get better range and reliability.

2. i got a 108mbps wireless network, runs at 54 only when needed uses 108, signal strength is excellent (only like 5m from router, but on opposite sides of a open plan sort of room if you wondering why im using wireless), speeds arent affected....

3. yes, but you need to put the router into bridged mode, this allows you to dial the connection from each pc separately rather than using the router. So pc 1 can use a account and pc 2 can use a different one.

4. depends on the strength of signal and speed i guess....with 108mbps and my router so close i get the same as if i was connected via ethernet cable....

5. i got a netgear one, wg311, only because my router is netgear as well, and they obviously would work well together......dont know whats recommended with telkom router...

maybe someone with the same router as you can help out more
