A bunch of people are playing UT2004 tonight at 8PM on a local server, so make sure you show up if you want to get your oldschool frag on.

We played a few nights this week as well and it was epic fun.

Aaw man I missed it. One of my all time favourite games :(
 
Well, we're planning on play quite a bit in the future. There should be action on the server most nights during the week and some of the guys already spoke of playing again next Friday. I know a bunch of them played again tonight, but sadly I couldn't make it.

It was hectic fun, though. Some of the best multiplayer gaming I've done in the last few years. They really don't make MP games like they used to.

Note for anyone interested- if you want to play on the server it is highly recommended that you download the Editor's Choice Edition content, otherwise you're probably going to be stuck downloading maps directly from the server in most matches.
 
I did play a bit yesterday, was fun! Unfortunately, my game lags to all hell. My internet isn't that great so it's kinda of 50/50 if a server will be good for me or not. For example, Dota 2 and CSGO work fine but I can't play NS2 at all. UT2k4 is very laggy. But I had fun! Such memories. Hopefully if we get a few more guys we can switch to TDM. While DM is fun, I think the team modes are a lot better.
 
Old school? I think you meant to type UT2k3 :). Would love a game of 2003 - insta-gib capture the flag.
 
Isn't 2k4 just 2k3 but bigger? Both games pretty much play the same.

At the time 2k4 didn't run so great on my pc and the vehicles felt a bit meh. I loved 2k3 (and the original - u so sexy dual enforcers) & never really warmed up to 2k4.
 
They're pretty much the same in terms of gameplay. I think you'll find 2k4 fun now, not that we have much option nowadays for local UT servers.
 
Ah, good times.

Original UT vs Quake...and all the intense discussions about which was better.
 
zewp, mind sending a few of us some reminders when you lot are on again?
I'd be more than willing to get my Editors Choice out to install if it meant there were folks to play with.

Couldn't play cs:go yesterday due to terrible lag 450ms +.
I can't stand offloading a clip into someone only for them to shoot me with one shot.

I've been playing loadout to get my twitch shooter game on so this would be great.
 
I'd be well up for 2k3, or even 2k4 if you can get instagib CTF going. Might just get 2k4 and see how it plays :).
 
THe latency killed it for me, we need a local server and I see there is an Mweb one buts its always empty.

Over the weekend there were people playing every day, so I'd dust of my copy if I were you.

Something else to consider is making a Steam group or something similar so we have a central hub where we can let eachother know when games are going on.

Edit: Spelling, stupid phone. I'll speak to Zewp later if he comes online on Steam.

Geez i have missed the game :P

I still haven't lost my touch, was doing alright.

Played a few tonight, nickname was Bastila.
