This should not be allowed to happen. Taking weapons of security forces is a big no no for a supposedly student protest.

Because he is in security, and is therefore legally allowed to, and should be carrying a weapon to perform his duties. Asking nicely and pepper spray don't work well as forms of security for this sort of thing...
