Thanks for the email. I have requested our VIP customer care desk to investigate and correct as soon as possible. I will revert soon.

Regards,

Jacques Hattingh

I sent my billing queery to Jacques Hattingh the other day and he replied with the above and my queery was sorted in under 12 hours. When calling 808 they usually say 5 days for a billing queery.

1.Why cant all billing queeries be fixed as fast as this?

2. How do you become fortunate enough to become a V.I.P?

3. How do customers get direct access to this VIP help desk?

4. Why cant all customers get this kind of service? It is alot faster and the consultants are much more friendly and actually know what is going on.

Can somebody clear this up for me?

Good day,

That's strange as billing query's go to the same billing department and they not dealt with according to the level weather your a normal consumer, VIP or SME

I think VIP clients are selected by the amount they spend and so forth

by email:
1. The process to resolve billing queries is not always as simple as one hopes it to be. Thus, not all queries can be resolved immediately.
2. MTN has a VIP service desk, similar to a bank's Private Banking suite, for certain qualifying MTN customers.
3. A customer's cellnumber gets flagged and our systems route calls from these customers accordingly.
4. As in the banking industry, where you would compare Private banking with general Retail banking, not all customers can be accommodated in a VIP service environment.

Regards,

Jacques.

Thank you for clearing this up MTNDD and Jacques.

So what benefits do the VIP customers get?

Good day,

The one thing I know is they are allowed to upgrade after one year instead of two years..............

Not bad... Whats the minimum spend needed to join?

we dont discuss this because its not a club. (data dude dont go stirring up a hornets nest with ure one year upgrades), there are criteria for selecting a vip client ie length of service and expenditure sure, but we dont divulge such info- can you imagine the kind of flack we would take from borderline individuals trying to muscle up their status?
besides, here at mtn we believe that each and every client is most certainly gold in their own right.

Ok but why not, if we spending R2500 a month let us know if maybe another R500 will make us VIP.
Im on MTN but I know voda has something similar, surely I can try to be a VIP customer. Im 8 years and spend around R3k a month.
Why am I not considered?

No comment, sorry. as far as i can tell they would take the top 5000 (this is just a hypothetical figure) spenders on the network and make them Vip clients, but like i said that cant be discussed.

What about people with new 95c starter packs. Are they put in a long queue and sent to the trainee operators? LOL

So being a MTN Subscriber since the first contracts was available in SA (I think 1993), and having 5 contracts doesn't count anything?

How many subscribers does MTN have?? I was one of the first 60000 customers.;)

I have 2 my mom has 1 and my dad 1, Im spending almost 3K on one line...

This is a forum for data queries, we advise where we can on data queries, we cant change your status so theres no use in threatening to cancel ure 3k expenditure- believe me if it was up to me you enlightened intellectuals would all be on the vip list, but its not, please guys i will say no more on the matter.
