It's under the water there somewhere! :p

Ate there two weeks ago btw yuuummy

That must be the busiest wimpy this side of Timbuktu. They puh-ump it out there during holiday season and they do it well.

Oh yes. Every single time I have been there (3 or 4 times a year) it's packed. The guy who owns that Wimpy must be coining it.

good too see a rise in the water levels, we here went from 30% up to 60 in 4 months (mind you, it is a very small capacity dam)

Indeed. If we lose about 0.1% per day again due to usage and waste - as we did before the rains started - and the level doesn't go above say 55%, say that's 300 days before we get rain again, we will be at 25% again. So no reason to waste now just to put ourselves at risk again in a few months.

Do they adjust the actual capacity of the considering the sediment that goes in every year, or using the official capabilities still of when the dam was built?

Perhaps they are thinking ahead for winter. 53% is a lot better, but seeing that we hardly get any rain in winter, perhaps best to keep on using water sparingly until the dam has got a larger reserve.
we're not even halfway through the wet season yet...

Considering the dam is only half full...

Sterkfontein is at 87% still...

Water restrictions are infrastructure related. The dry spell was just a convenient scapegoat.
