Vaal up 10 percent in a couple of days is a pretty good indicator...There is no word on whether or not La Nina even started.
We can only hope that El Nino doesn't return anytime soon so that we can get normal rainfall for a year or two...
Does it not follow a very predictable patern? Something like every four years?

Well there's always the fire pool if the dams run dryThen parts of KZN are going to remain screwed. The dams there are still running really low.
And if the anc built it, it would have been 120% full ages ago. Dam colonial whites can't do anything right.Vaal over 55 percent this morning and Grootdraai just started overflowing...
I heard on numerous occasions that they were predicting abnormally HIGH rainfall for DEC, JAN and FEB.

Yip lack of maintenance and response to leaks is definitely a large contributor.Anyway.. guess we neeed to see how recovered the damn levels are in feb. I think water losses by municipal pipes are still leading reason for loss.
Good weekend for the Vaal.
Friday 54.54%
This morning 59.15%, inflow of 750 cumecs.

Did it rain again somewhere this weekend, or is that still inflow from the rain from 10 days ago? Because in Centurion we basically had almost nothing for the last 10 days, but I am hoping somewhere else had a nice surprise visit.
Was PISSING down in Pretoria over the weekend (Saturday). Didn't check the meter but was heavy rain for about 40 minutes to an hour. Pools of water everywhere.
This would have been rain from late last week for this weekend's surge.
Not on our side, no rains at all...

Centurion barely got anything either.
EDIT: In fact, **** all on Saturday, just a little bit on Friday, I mean.
