Flow from Grootdraai into Vaal was shut off for about 12 hours but i see its full again. Probably get another nice inflow into Vaal.

Stupid question - but shouldn't Rand Water now be asking us all to use as much water as possible, to monetize the overflow? Rather take advantage an earn some extra revenue and upgrade our infrastructure than let it run into the ocean.
Rand Water can't provide enough water, hence the restrictions.

The department says in order to avoid the dams from bursting, they will open two sluice gates at the Vaal Dam and eight at the Bloemhof Dam, which could result in flooding.
