Someone riddle me this...

People on this forum keep referring to the cars as VAG(s). e.g.

are VAG drivers! Roux is going to love this .... :D

Why?

Volkswagen AG refers to the corporate entity. So it's the equivalent of saying "What are you drinking? I'm drinking a Coca-cola company".

Same problem with Volkswagen Audi Group if that's what is meant.

So what am I missing here? Or is this just a case of people trying (and failing) to sound clever?

It is Volkswagen AG, AG being the German (Pty) Ltd.

Damn... I came here cause I thought you mistyped VGA drivers and wanted to see the response.

Yeah we all came here for the same reason... disappointed...hehe

A bunch of vaginas if u ask me!

I know that & said as much in my post. Doesn't answer the question though.

Do you see people claiming to be driving a "Rolls Royce corporation"? No, they drive a Rolls Royce.

It's a play on the word vagina if that wasn't already obvious...

VAG drivers are most di*ks

BTW there is a forum called VAG fanatics. I just subscribe to playboy.

With all the problems they have, i am not surprised they had to form a support group. (SPANX)

It's just a term that encompasses cars built on virtually the same platforms.

So encompassing Audi and Volkswagen generally as in Polo = A1, Golf = A3, Jetta = A4, Q3 = Tiguan etc.

Porsche can be thrown in sometimes as well but outside of the Macan and Cayenne they are generally quite different.

Ultimately it comes from the point of view that if you are having issues with your A3 then the very same issues would apply to the Golf and so it's a VAG problem.

Of course it can also be used in a derogatory fashion for it's namesake.
