Hey All,

I am sure some of you have been reminded about the big V day coming around soon. I thought I would get some ideas for a gift. Considering the recession let's leave out overseas holidays.

I think my budget will be around R2000. What about your budgets?

Good Luck

Diamond Earrings or even 18k gold ones.
My wife says to buy 9k - which in my opinion is not worth it cos it does not last - but she lost the tanzanite ones i bought her last year - so maybe 9k is not such a bad idea.

Last year my Budget was just under 1k

This year (thankfully) ill be spoiling myself :D

holy shyte :wtf: . R2000 for valentines. you must be crazy or stinking rich.
my budget is about R100. bubbly and flowers.

Oh jeez ... forgot about Valentines.

I've got over my breakup, but with this stupid day and pink/red flowers everywhere, it's gonna put me back a step or two.

Rofl :D

I do not spoil my gf on Vday as thats just stupid as everything is 6 times the price. Normally ill treat her to a day spa and a massage. That or take her away to a much nicer place a week on from Vday. Why pay R1500 for a silly guest house per night on Vday when you can fly her down to the coast for a weekend and stay in a 4 star lodge for more or less the same price or less?

Also buying a bunch of roses for R150-R400 (I shlt you not) is silly. Then spending R500 on a R100 dinner is idiotic. Doing all this only one day of the year is down right retarded. (We all know woman are a lot more :erm: shall we say happy(?) after a being treated :D)

R1500-for return flights for 2 plus accomodation for a weekend?

R1500 pppn. Thus R6000

Return tickets out of season to durban = R600 return flight. Thus R1200 so then you have R4800 for two nights accom.

R2400 per room sharing.

Valentines day is a money making scheme and anyone that buys / does /goes to something that is worth less than what you are paying just cause it is on Vday is silly.

Home cooked dinner on Vday with some candels and flower pedals on the floor and I am sure you will make her happy.

But that is just my opinion.

Ah yes Valentines Day. Another Retailer's Holiday designed to part you from your hard earned cash

Honestly although I do by my wife something every year I have come to realize that its not the amount of money spent but rather the thought that counts and the more original the better

Seeing that it is a Sunday this year I would highly recommend Breakfast in Bed and please buy the flowers yourself, netflorist are just ludicrous with their prices

breakfast in bed sounds great! prolly do dinner the night before if I can find a babysitter.
