Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Apparently they didn't give review copies to anyone but the traditional media.

I think it is more a case where they didn't have the same embargo rules. It can be read in GmanLives post on X, it is implied. They gave him a review code, then they gave it to others too.

What's the game about. It's surely not about stalking innocents on streets as vampires and biting them in the neck?

Somebody doesn't know the lore. Vampires in this world don't deem humans to be innocent at all. All Kindred have their views, they all have their interpretations. It is biblical.

So it's like almost like a Western version of KT's "Deception". I'll admit I never played it but characters and skins appeared in other KT games. The people are not innocent, so you can 'murder' them? I'm just wondering what the lore and game is about. People seem to be impressed by this.

I wanted to share you a video, but I don't see it well covered. Watch this:

Then this:

It is a tabletop, so the lore does have its editions. I actually haven't watched the above so I don't know what is covered and in what depth and its accuracy.

I'll check it out. Thanks

Mortismal said he didn't receive a code and to him it seems only legacy media got review codes.

Some unknown reviewer already leaked the game's entire play through. Yeah, I am not watching that.

I think there are publishers and developers who are hesitant to hand out review coded. Some time ago, a known YouTube reviewer, that I don't know, requested some codes, only to sell them on the gray market. Humans...

From seeing how the game was reviewed. I think Paradox and The Chinese Room was aware how it would be received, so they had nothing to hide. I mean, the reviews are a week old.

The question is though, will there be any redemption? The game is quite small. I think the install size is around 22GB, though it is the pre-load.

I think the game goes live in an hour; oh well, one night without CS2.

Reviewers are really hitting this game hard. PCGamer said today that all side quests are basically rubbish, lol.

Yeah, I don't want to be disappointed, and I know that I am going to be disappointed.

Looking forward to your feedback.

First negative is that the game is holding your hand. Playing the game on normal as a Losambra. We'll see.

Some odd game design decisions. I am sure that they can change some mechanics to improve world interaction.

In the time I have played, I haven't had any stability issues. Feels good to be honest.

Time to get to the story.

While the game has some notable flaws, it cannot be overlooked that the main storyline is compelling. The issues are bad, and they have made some very bad game design decisions. Within the confines of the playable area, it just can't be ignored that the game's writing is superb. The voice acting is talented.

Some stuff that is broken. The game doesn't have manual save options. No character slots. Map clipping. Uninspiring side missions, and I mean really uninspiring, but it isn't a total waste of time. The world building is limited to the story arc.

They need to evolve the clan-specific abilities and powers and allow for less cross-clan contamination. This can be fixed. A point respec should also be made available through some in-game function.

For me personally, playing on normal, the game is too easy, and I am playing as the hardest clan to play. The game is challenging, but you have limited approaches to solving problems.

All of this can be fixed. Many of the issues this game has were issues that Cyberpunk 2077 had, albeit Cyberpunk had a far larger playable world.

I would wish to see them address this with patches and make the game more whole with the upcoming DLC.

If you are going to play this just for the story, it is good. Everything else brings the game down. For what I paid when I pre-ordered years ago, it is okay, and now it is almost double (I think) the price.

The game is definitely fixable.
