He supposedly read it during lunch on 2005-03-16 so she was still alive.

The consensus is he is the murderer since he had access to the apartment, the amount of wounds, he had the murder weapon, the dodgy letter, he went to one of those weird nutcase churches (His People's Church or Shofar AFAIK), his alibi at Old Mutual didn't testify etc.

I think I remember now, that the suspicion was that she actually called it off with him and that motivated the murder and the letter was his self made get out of jail card.
