Hi,

So we're starting with VB .Net at varsity, now in their notes they have this thing where you go into visual studios, create a new project and then under the data section there is suppose to be a oledbconnection component...but there isn't. I looked around on google etc and I think its cause mine installed .net compact framework? Could that be the reason? And if so what do I need to download to get the oledbconnection thing? .net framework developer or just normal .net framework cause according to control panel .net framework 2.0 is already installed...

Thanx in advance

Are you talking about your "Server Explorer" when you right-click on the "Data Connections" and choose "Add Connection"? There is usually a list of data sources there. Choose "<other>" and, from the "Data provider" dropdown list, choose ".NET Framework Data Provider for OLE DB".

Nop, didn't mean that but managed to fix it in the end, always seems to happen just after I start a thread asking about it :)

Yes its not always enjoyable to sit behind someone as they slowly work a problem when you could solve it in seconds, but do it now and see it as an investment in time.

That, right there, is one of my pet peeves... :p I get SO frustrated that I rather end up doing it myself. Its wrong, I know, but time is precious...
