Was wondering how many vegetarians/vegans there are on the forum.

Requesting a poll from mods so we can try and quantify a percentage.

On our way to vegetarian

Cutting our meat intake by every month, it's not cheap anymore.

Come from a farm, meat is meat and a man must eat. Its aiding human evolution :)

I see chicken as a veggie.

Could never live without meat. I'd die.

p.s. your title should be Omnivore instead of Carnivore. Have yet to meat a human carnivore...

.... Have yet to meat a human carnivore...

I have a few mates who would only eat meat if French Fries did not exist. I have 1 mate who only eats meat and starch but gets his other nutrition from meal shakes etc.

Good old Seff Efrikan diet eh? "Chicken as a Veg"! Love it.

(see no one noticed my unintended pun in that sentence "have yet to meat a human carnivore". Grammar Nazi's on strike today? :p)

A balanced diet is a healthy diet. Too little meat and you will become unhealthy and pretty easy picking for sickness`s (thats why most of your vegan friends have little pharmacies in their medicine cabinets)

Too much meat and you increase the risk of cancer a lot (our bodies are still evolving to adapt to meat it seems).

You can easily eat a perfectly balanced vegetarian diet without resorting to mass supplements.

Snake is a white meat.. and it tastes like a cross between chicken and fish.

I was thinking antibiotics.

There was a time when humans ate mostly a plant based diet.. during a large period in the Roman empire when the average age of a human reduced to 27.

Eating meat is more healthier than not eating meat and it aids our evolution. I can understand if you dont want to eat it for religious or personal moral reasons and ure allowed to do whatever you want with your body.

However, a balanced diet is healthier and better for you and by balanced I mean all food groups... than going silly one direction or the other.

:eek::eek: OMG what was i thinking? :p

Back on topic, could the veg-only's please explain to me what the point of soya burgers and soya mince etc is? If you going to just mimic the taste of meat why not just eat meat?

And if you eat veggies only you're still a softie. Try this on for size...http://www.fruitarian.com/ao/WhatIsFruitarianism.htm :eek::eek:

Spur, here I come!

Coz there's no dead animals in a soya burger?

Love the taste of meat, just not the principle.

Love the taste of meat.. and I do understand the principle. Would love to replicate an instant Steers burger but until I am able to use that technology, I am going to keep my spot on the food chain... knowing that anything.. even a single celled bacteria... could knock us off in the food chain at any moment.

On the bright side.. at least my food eats veggies.
