Anyone else liking Vertcoin? I like the underlying philosophy - summary here:

"Vertcoin is a digital currency that can be sent between people over the internet. Vertcoin (VTC) stays true to the original vision of cryptocurrency: a financial system owned by its users, the people’s coin. Vertcoin is not controlled by large banks or mining hardware manufacturers and can be mined by anyone profitably. Fairly distributed without a premine, ICO or airdrop, Vertcoin is developed by community members working as volunteers and the project is wholly funded by donations. A finite resource similar to gold, you can rest assured that Vertcoin will keep your money safe from vested interests and ensure that transaction fees are proportionate and shared between a large number of miners. With Vertcoin, you can truly be your own bank."

Also been an absolute roller coaster day of trading VTC/BTC. Low of BTC 0.00043130 and a High of BTC0.00079900/ Lot of people nearly doubled their digits today.

I got in at s53000 and out again at s70000. After that it hit the high of s79000 but then crashed back to s59000 and is lingering around that level now. While I was interested in VTC for is above-mentioned underlying principles I just happened to get caught up in today's trading.

Long term Im going to probably hodl this one...

Definitely. Moved all our rigs over from ETH/ETC to VTC about 2 weeks ago.

The mining process is fascinating compared to the bigger coins. The mining is structured in such a way that the guys with server farms type rigs can't abuse the mining and the solo miner with a local low latency pool can benefit.

You trading or mining?

To be honest, I do not know Vertcoin. I know Ethereum, Bitcoins, Dogecoin oder Litecoin but Vertcoin? Never heard about that before. But I gonna check them out

Vertcoin are going to drop their block reward from 50 to 25 on the 12th of Dec 2017, so there is a bit of a scramble to mine or buy as much as possible before the reward changes, this is one of the reasons that the value has increased so much, from around $1.5 a month ago to over $4 at times. The coin has a good history and a good future.

Local SA pool if you're a miner: http://vtc.splatgrave.com:9171/

Need some help. I tried mining Vertcoin but can't see how much I've mined.

I created a VTC address on my Nano hardware wallet, then installed the One Click miner, chose a pool with low ping and entered my address.

After 24 hours of mining with one card as a test, I looked at a Vertcoin blockchain explorer and searched for my address but I got the error that such an account doesn't exist.

What to do?

It takes a while for the explorer to update, you might see some of your transactions here first before you see them on the vertcoin explorer: https://bitinfocharts.com/vertcoin/

Personally I prefer to have the vertcoin wallet/core installed on my machine. Initial installation takes a while to download all the blocks/transactions but then you get instant insight and overview of any transactions that happen and your total balance: https://github.com/vertcoin/vertcoin/releases

Let me know if you still struggle or have any questions.

So can you mine this completely solo?

So how many coins are you guys earning per day with your setups? any 1070s with some stats? I might join the club.

3-4 coins with a hashrate of about 180 Mh/s over 2 rigs. (1070's & 1060's)

The mining efficiency improved drastically when mining from the vtc.splatgrave.com pool because the latency is important to keep the DOA % low. Typically the DOA % doesn't get much above 2% but on the EU or US pools it was in anywhere from 20% - 50% because of the latency.

What do you get per 1070?

What do you get per 1070?

About 32-34Mh/s per 1070 card.

What miner do you use? I’m looking for a new coin to mine. Never looked into Vertcoin. Looks interesting
