ps. I live in Montana region, so I dont know why it says there pretoria north?

using openweb uncapped

From that traceroute everything seems 100%.

Uncapped shaped accounts will not have the best of latencies for WoW. You'll have to get an unshaped account if you want decent overseas latencies.

Yeah the overseas route seems also fien to me but its the local route that seems a bit wrong? As I dont live in Pretoria North? lol and my previous tracerts didnt take that route. Is the local route dependent to your isp?

Or you can use battlenet. It is only R30 a month and gives you excellent latency. I use it all the time on WOW. My ping rate is under 200 and I am using a normal and cheap shaped account.

Looks pretty much identical to mine

^^ That is SAIX and not Cybersmart as I've previously thought :(

To be honest, that just looks like a normal SAIX traceroute, SAIX doesn't make use of shaping equipment as far as I can tell, which would make it seem normal that those pings are so consistent, there is nothing that changes timing on them.

Ok maybe if they use shaping equipment it is indeed set up pretty well. Mostly showing that other ISPs can also have very consistent latencies. I noticed that, that Sainet traceroute look very similar to what I usually notice on other people's M-Web traceroutes...

Thanks Tinuva. That was actually a traceroute of the @lantic's free ADSL, because my Cybersmart account didn't work :(

I love your latencies Tinuva! Is that a standard WA account?

Latency was Crap Yesterday.

I normally play WOW on a 384DSL line . ( if Only it was Cheaper for faster DSL).My Pings are nothing to Speak about but 400-600 is playable. Yesterday was horrific.Even going to a Website such Speedtest.net or Neotel Broadband test was slow. Managed to do the Neotel test. Upload was 15kps and download 13Kps. Tried to get into Gamespot. So Slow.
I was getting 1000-2000ms.NOrmal play. Lucky from time to time doing 690-980ms If I go to a Major City. 7000 -8000ms. What the Hell. I'm on a Telkom siax account. I have Never experienced anything like this.
So I would say there is a problem with Latency internationally. My 3G connection.
Was perfectly fine unfortnately I cant play using that as its Prepaid and Only used for work. Just keep Checking the website for updates and Forums.

50gb Titan account (which is the same as the Silver accounts they have now), though it does help that I stay in Cape Town.

Hi,

I don't know who your ISP is but we've received notification that Akamai is routing internationally instead of locally and this is causing high latency on international traffic.
The problem has been reported to Telkom.
