Via opens hardware specs

mmm, nice little thing,

But even more intriguing is the fact that NVidia started to manufacture some of VIA's Chips, and with the recent media, hype and war of words between NVidia and Intel, the future might see another entrant into the CPU market in NVidia, Nvidia's only major constraint is the X86 licensing, and guess who the 4 licence holders are? AMD, Intel, IBM and ? You guessed it VIA. The VIA NVidia connection could be a very interesting one indeed, there has been a lot of speculation of NVidia acquiring VIA's Processor division in order to get a x86 license, seeing as Intel won't sell, IBM is too big and AMD has a non-transferable licence.

But back to the VIA OpenBook, very nice idea, the initial specs are also not bad, seams like the EEEPC as spawned an entire new market for Ultra Mobile PC's....

What we will also see is a bunch of poor quality notebooks in the field - let's face it, some system builders don't really know what they are doing...
Proper grounding for WiFi / screen / speakers comes to mind for one... I wonder how many dangerous microwave devices people will be putting on their laps lol.
