. I certainly understand HTC_Guy's hesitation, especially since VTX 3D is a relatively new brand. All I can say is that we have sold a fair amount of all the VTX 3D graphics cards that we purchased (5850, 5870, currently sold out on 5970), haven't had a single RMA and we've only had positive feedback from purchasers. Sometimes people think that because it's TOO cheap, that there must be something wrong with them. We're distributing the cards in SA and we therefore charging essentially what a distributor/wholesaler 'should' reasonably charge for new cards. There's also a 2-year warranty on the cards backed by VTX 3D, which is part of TUL Corporation (PowerColor's parent company).
Keep in mind, these are reference boards, essentially they're the same whether you're getting the reference Sapphire, HIS, Club 3D or ASUS. The bundle, warranty and price are the differentiators here.
In any case, back on topic. The recommendations for either HD5770 or HD4890 are good. If you absolutely want the most FPS for your buck and heat/power consumption/DX11 are not an issue, X-Firing 2xHD4850s is also an option.
