Hey guys may I pick your brain for some advice. I used to use Windows Movie Maker to slice up clips and put them as a video. I've found a few links to download it but somewhat nervous of just downloading from un-known sites. Please could someone point me to a trusted site. If you know of anything else similar to WMM I'd appreciate it. I'm not looking to make a full Kevin Costner movie with effects etc; just a bunch of family clips I'm wanting to string together into a montage sort of thing.

Shot.

You could try the Microsoft site?

Just a guess.

It wants me to install windows essentials, have no idea what that is.

Edit: That download is huge, seems to take forever. What do?

MovieMaker is part of the Windows Essentials suite. When you install, only choose to install MovieMaker and leave everything else out.

Lightworks may be more advanced than the OP is looking for but is an established professional video editor that is now available as free open source software.

Power Director Is brilliant easy to use software to use. I dont think it is "free" but worth a try.
