It is a joke now.

We have stations from the 70s chugging along - albeit barely - while the ANC's 16-year testament to engineering excellence goes up in literal smoke.
 
They never bothered to repair the unit at Duvha that exploded. Maybe this one won't get fixed either. That is if the insurance pays out...
 
I have it on reliable authority that there was an internal hydrogen explosion within the 800 MW generator of #Eskom #Medupi Unit 4, the ends of the generator have been blow off, the generator is destroyed, and it will have to be replaced. This is a massive setback.

So, another 50 billion ZARs or so, that's about the going rate of the corruption at Eskom, right?
 
It appears there was a deviation from the procedure for carrying out this activity. As such Eskom has undertaken to place those employees who were responsible to manage and execute this work under precautionary suspension pending the conclusion of the Major Event Investigation.

So this is totally down to incompetence. That's what you get for hiring people that aren't fit for the job. What a bunch of frikken idiots, and we wonder why SA is on the road to failure.

So not even a month after the power station goes opperational and they already have an explosion? Wow. I really don't know what to say. Just... wow. :oops: This is either incompetence to the extreme or delibirate sabotage.
