Viking wants a fast Droid - Beep Beep

When was the last time you did a warranty claim on a phone? By the time there's an issue the 2 year warranty is already gone...
Dude, I have BADLUCK!

I have done warranty claims on previous Redmi's. It's a lot of money for me to take a gamble. :X3:

(although on the cheap Redmi's back in the day it was not a big concern. I've never paid this much for a stupid phone)

the problem with this is that the two midranger phones will total R16k eventually but if you went for the Apple 16 Proplus 1TB then it would have cost R43k ...... the maths then doesn't add up BESIDES how many people will just have R32k to drop on a 128GB apple 16 Pro Plus (or as mentioned above R43k for the 1TB model) just lying around to spend on a phone as soon as they decide that they want a new phone ...... granted the same argument holds for the Samsung and the Huawei and all the top tier android phones too
iPhone 16 is a high end phone and you can get it for R16k

granted that its a nice phone BUT my sister has one and i looked at it but my S24FE was cheaper and has a few things that the Apple cant dream of having which are useful to me ...... the Apple will look terrific in terms of user interface etc with that liquid glass stuff (much better than Samsungs boring old schit) ....... and normally i would have been all over that but i found the S24FE at a good price at a time when that same iphone was around R20k so it was way out of my reach

It's half the performance at the same price.

You get Poco if you want performance, Redmi if you want a better camera. This is ultimately what it comes down to...

really can't argue with any of what you said there - Poco F1 was a similar deal ie same SOC as on phones that were 4 times the price but they skimped on the camera and gave it just a 12MP shooter and that didn't stop someone like me using it and still enjoying it while it worked

Unless you're talking about the F7 Ultra, which has performance, cameras and everything else, except eSim. It's literally half the price of other flagships without compromising on anything...

given that it uses the same Snapdragon 8 gen 3 as the S24 Ultra and has better charging etc at a price thats closer to half the S24 Ultra's price i would say that the Poco F7 would have been great if he could find one now ..... seems to be sold out though because i looked for one for a friend ..... i think you probably got one of the last few that they had

eSim would only be a dealbreaker for contract users - i don't think that you can use eSim on pay as you go plans

The F7 Pro uses SD gen 3. The F7 Ultra uses the same SD Elite as the S25 Ultra...

Wanting a fast android is like asking for a fast naturally aspirated car, never gonna happen. Goodluck.
Isn’t the S25U the fastest phone in the world though?

From someone that has used both, Androids can be faster in the real world - but the iPhones kill then at benchmarks.

yep - the samsung one is a custom one though - its called the Snapdragon Elite for Samsung - the second gen of this for the Samsung model is going to break having a core running at 4.7 giga-hz (will be used on the S26 ultra)

there are other phones using the regular version of the Snapdragon Elite SOC but the Samsung version is slightly overclocked and if the Poco F7 Ultra is using that one then its a speed freak too - even the regular version beats all and every iphone in every benchmark

You're right about the Samsung, I forgot about that. The F7 Ultra uses the regular Elite...
