Yeh - I'd also like clarity on that, because Virgin also have different rates depending on the contract you sign. 12 vs. 24 months.... so - shouldn't you be getting back 740 as thats the the maximum

Just phoned Virgin Active as well as our Own Your Life call centre.

Virgin Active increased the premier membership fee from R679 in 2014 to R740 in 2015.

So in order to get a rebate on the full R740 from Liberty, you need to swipe for 15 times in a month.

So you'll still get the full rebate?

They going to give people heart attacks :p

Not an issue for me most months though - usually go twice a day to skip traffic - so 20 days a month and every 2nd weekend.

AFAIK Virgin Active Red is different from the normal Virgin Active gym's.

Anyone know if you have to wait for your policies to become active before doing the Ownyourliferewards subscription?

My policy is effective from 01 March - but I'd like to do the paperwork and crap for starting in March at gym - I don't really feel like joining up on 01 March at 4:30am.

Yes it is - the link though has both prices... Red and Premier.
 
So just to clarify, the Planet Fitness membership with the OYL rewards is not as complicated? Why is that though?

Not sure why it's a lot simpler, but I personally am not a fan of Planet Fitness.

I see Planet Fitness as the second option, if a person can't afford VA.

Just my personal opinion though.
 
Really can't stand Discovery....

I asked in January how to cancel - they responded that a letter is required and a calendar months notice, I asked them where it states a calendar month is required, and they responded in some or other "guide" to the policy. (especially considering this is a prepaid product, i.e. February has already been paid for)

I asked for a copy that I signed accepting that - they then forwarded a PDF guide dated four years after the policy inception - I responded asking how I accepted something in the future and to please provide the correct documentation, I copied their compliance officer. Discovery Life ignored me - and the compliance officer responded that they would get the correct department to respond.

That was near the end of January - and nothing further.

So - last week I responded with a cancellation letter effective end of February - needless to say - they just responded again saying a calendar month is required, and now list requirements for the cancellation letter to be accepted.

I responded that my cancellation is in-line with the policy documents which only stipulate the requirements for a cancellation letter.

If they debit my account, I'll have it reversed by the bank.

I actually joined in Dec 2009, IIRC that was the last month they allowed the lifetime free membership :D

So if I have a Retirement Annuity at liberty for R750pm, I can sign up for this?
 
What does a 12 month contract cost (per month)? (for a single club and for all clubs ["premier"?])
