Virgin Data Dead - How to warn us in future.

#$% it was down last night to.This sucks, but when its up it is worth it. Looks like they were down until this morning.
I haven't tried since.

Yip - Down again- actually- I have had no luck since Friday night- 123 told me last night that there is no prob with GPRS- but - realy what do they know?

Going to e-mail Carmen Doyle

Maybe get some answers.

Was dead for me last night about the same time, probably down countrywide again.

Virgin data totally dead at the moment for me, using Vodacom now. Anyone else?

My VM has been down since the 6th - I had some one call me from VM yesterday- according to him - they only have cappacity for 140 000 users - that got blown pretty quickly- they are upgrading - do not know how long it is going to take- the problems is nation wide- I am waiting for some Cell- C guys to come do some tests at my house????!!!!!- they must come and investigate something or a another.

But VM is a problem right now- supply and demand issue.

I hope they get it solved quickly- because initially it was brilliant and cheap- hate to have to use MTN again.

What error does it give you when you try and connect? Because if you can get Cell C reception it should work, at least while its working for everyone else? You'd think seeing as they're running on Cell C they'd have more spare capacity. If that's really the case then they obviously didn't expect much of an uptake considering they only planned for 140 000 users. Try emailing Carmen if you haven't already, she seems to get stuff sorted.

If only they could get a rep in here to drop a note about downtime it would allready be an improvement. I don't understand how MtN and VC can have great guys to represent them here in the forums, and Virgin still doen't have one.

I gave Virgin a whole heap of feedback when they launched, ilncluding the recommendation that they register a "Virgil" user on this forum to support users... alas, it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. EDIT: Who knows... I've just emailed them again - perhaps this thread might encourage them to reconsider.

VC's 3G connectivity isn't very reliable in CT (versus cable based connectivity), so I was hoping I could switch to Virgin for data, but it's not viable at this stage.

Virgin has been stopping and starting all day today. I spoke to customer services and reported it. When I rang again later, another operator said "No one has raised a problem all day about data!" He, he, so if there's a problem, they just don't bother noting it. Good for the stats I guess.

Been ok for me today, although it was down last night. Haven't been using it the whole day though, on and off, so maybe I just had good timing :)
