Virgin GPRS online|offline?

what is a good price on a E220 and from where

+-R2200 @ Vodacom shops
+-R2099 @ Nasua Mobile <Good luck with this one

Otherwise I would Strongly Recomend you go for this offer as the hardware is not limited to the E220's 3.6Mbps speed but this unit can handle 7.2Mbps.

You have to pay R2099 upfront for Hardware.
Thereafter you have to take a data bundle offer from them.
That is minimum of R100 per month for minimum of 6months for 250MB with a Setup Fee of R99.

R2198 Upfront + R600 over 6 months getting you 1.5GB over 6 months.
R2798 in Total.

Not a bad deal if you dont mind the 6 month contract!

MTN is free again tonight (Shhhh .... keep it to yourself)
Loaded a R10 data bundle yesterday and it is like the Duracell bunny. :)

My VM GPRS is fine so far today, while yesterday it was unstable.
Never had a problem during CellC'c free calls, it was only 1 saturday i had a problem and it was only during the week after that it was OK again. So i cannot blame CellC for that.

I'm connected about an hour and 40 minutes now without any problems so far:)

40 Minutes being a rather rough estimate. :P

I have a theory about VM's Speed/Quality of Service:
Code:
If(Chance of low speeds/downtime == high)
{
Speeds/Reliability==Great;
}

Some stats/figures to back up this theory:
Last time, in the Deemed "downtime", I had the Best speeds I ever had on VM. In the weekends (sometimes), while we are suspecting degraded service because of the CellC Free Calls thing,we are getting OK speeds. :confused:

Possibly because fewer people use VM during the expected downtimes / bad service period, thus allowing the few people who do use it during these periods to have the network all to themselves:D

Maybe I was wrong - I set my maxrequests to 100 and it seems to be doing much better:D Know any tweaks for Opera?:)
You could play around in network preferences under advanced preferences and change the max. connections to a server and total connections.
Why do everyone like Opera that much? I have never worked with Opera so I have never had the chance to play around with it, so no, Sorry - No tweaks that I know of. Good to know the tweak for FF works :D
Maybe because it comes with all the features built-in, no need to install extensions.

What have you guys got connections set at...

mine is 64 & 128, respectively.

Oh well, I Prefer my FF for now. :D
On the VM side of things, here after 2/3 PM I had some great Speeds, but that all went to the moon by about 7PM. :(
