Virgin Mobile competes on price

yay!, there actually competing with the big boys.......whats the catch

Nice and cheap data

these prices are looking good. Im not sure on the price of the international sms, need to check. as per the sms's My mtn bundle is still cheap. 20c pers sms. The data is looking gr8, really is, just not sure on the stability of the network. MTN's is still the strongest out there

Any news on when its going to all be launched? the launch party

[sarcasm on]

Virgin Mobile competes on price

As a South African telecoms client, I have never heard of such a thing - how does it work? Does this mean that call costs may be /runs off to look up a word he has not used before/ cheaper?

[/off]

On a side note, I am VERY glad I did not renew my vodacom contract that was up for renewal this month.....

Almost makes me want to switch. Unless Vodacom matches the prices in the coming weeks.

Either way, Richard Branson is the new SA Chuck Norris this week!

No ads in die Burger or Business Day today, anybody seen any ads elsewhere?

They're running primarily TV and Print, I'm sure we'll probably see TV come first though.

I checked our systems for radio bookings on serveral of our regionals and there's nothing there as yet.

D

The messed up my address details.

Looking at my Vodacom Statement:eek: the day before yesterday I am inclined to look for alternative service providers.
I actually phoned in to enquire about the high bill on one of the two numbers I am charged for.
One really has to watch your usage as it starts to eat up the figures in no time.

/Rant
Other than that, lets see if Vodacom can get my address details correct this time. I am sure they have a glitch in their system?
I asked them again to change it.
The two invoices and the statements address details, three pages in total, are all different. If it wasn't that the Statement Address was vaguely correct I doubt I would get my mail in the post as the one invoice address is for another suburb completely, but my name on it.
>This will not be my first attempt to correct the address details on my accounts. The attitude of the woman on the phone and her obvious no care attitude when I tried to explain the address stuff-up was a sort of response I could have expected from Telkom.
Telkom still to this day has not corrected my address details either, which has the wrong street number on it.
Thank heavens the Postman here knows us, delivers our mail because of our name.

Data at 50c a MB? That's way cool! :D
Especially for pre-paid, it beats the socks off data bundles... even if the efective in bundle rate is 10c lower...
With no need for stupid bundles you don't have to make sure you use a certain amount of data per month! :D

There's a problem with the price summary at the end of the article btw...
It states all sms messages after the first 5 as costing R35  ... I think it's meant to be R0.35

Absolutely, and when Cell C launches 3G, this offering will be the best by far. No worries about when the bundle expires and finding stuff to download so that you don't "waste" your unused data.
WHERE CAN I GET A Virgin Starter Pack????

Guys virgin may be gr8...theres no doubt about it...But remember NO 3G/hsdpa, As cellc does not have a 3g network deployed. So if ur not using 3g or fast data and prepared to use slow gprs, its gr8, but if u want video calling etc. etc. etc.
its not as good as it seems

I KNOW for a fact that cellc are NOT launching 3G anytime soon. They say if they want to use 3G they will roam on vodacom's network :( ... and as recent complications between the two have shown, it cannot be a good thing..
