Virgin Money vs Bluebean

They had system issues with new applications. They told me it has been sorted out now.

Ocks - I'm pretty sure that you will love the Blue Bean card. Until you have to deal with their call centre/processes. If it's shiyte on application, it will be exceptionally shiyte on day to day service needs.

Will have to see I guess. I am keeping my Virgin Money card anyway. If Bluebean turns out to be terrible then I will just go back to using the VM card and cancel the Bluebean one. I very seldom phone Virgin Money, so hope it will be the same with Bluebean.

Thinking of turning on sms notifications @ 55c on my VMCC card for peace of mind.

Does the Blue Been offer free sms notifications?

Got the card just now. Easy to get the PIN. You just phone the number and authenticate yourself. Once you have done that, you can setup internet banking .... and OMG .... HUGE FCKING IMPROVEMENT FROM VM ABSA K@K.

@ FlashSA. Yes, according to the brochure I got with it, you can register for free SMS notifications.

Cool! What documents did you have to email them after applying?

Copy of ID. Proof of address and proof of income. If you bank with Standard Bank they can pick that up automatically. You just tick the box on your online application, or 3 months latest bank statements. When they deliver the card you need to show your actual ID and proof of physical address again as they take pictures of it to prove they got it from you. You can also upload it at the same time with your application, but I did not have scanned copies of mine handy so had to do it when I got to work again on Monday. I think try and upload it directly with your application online. Will most likely make it go faster.

Wait a few days and the details will appear on the statement. Don't know of any way to see the details other than that.

Ok...cool. Thank you.

At least they take it off your available credit so you dont get confused as to what is actually still available on the card. I sometimes got a bit confused with the Virgin Money site where it is not clear if the amount spent includes uncleared transactions yet or not.

This is a big PRO with VMCC - I have found every swipe no matter the amount, will appear in the list of transactions, even if some appear under "uncleared". I much prefer this way to what FNB used to do (like your screenshot) and list uncleared as 1 amount and you have no idea what swipes that amount refers to until they clear and go into the transactions list.

It would have been nice if they made that uncleared amount a link and when you click on it it will show you the transactions it is made out of, but not a major train smash for me. Much prefer the Standard Bank site than that ABSA thing VM uses.

Yeah, ABSA always used to show me the individual pending transactions. FNB just lump it together under a single amount, which is pretty ****.
