Virgin Money vs Bluebean

Just got my first proper statement from BlueBean for my black card. At the end it shows R30 service fee and I almost wip'd. But then I saw at the top it has:

So, it is confirmed. Provided you swipe for R2000.00 or more per month they void your monthly fee. :)

Bump.

I am thinking of getting the Bluebean card (as my primary card and for the roadside assist).
The bank I am with is Capitec and I am currently a very happy VMCC client. I would like to spread my load ,so to say, and have a backup card to use in case of weird emergencies (VMCC down for some reason and Capitec issues at the same time, etc.. - hey you never know).

Are there any costs as per your OP Ockie?
1. Do you pay per swipe?
2. Do you pay interest on petrol purchases?
3. What are the SMS notification fees?

Bluebean roadside assistance doesn't seem so attractive anymore, seems like the tow limit is now R500, that's barely a 10km tow?

Seems like the Virgin Online portal is getting upgraded May 2016 (finally) and you'll get SMS otp for large transactions. To update your phone number you need to phone them though? :wtf: What year is this? 1996?

I already get an SMS OTP for ALL online transactions, even sub R100 ?

Lol how much does that cost you? I enabled sms notifications once and it costed R11 so I cancelled it fast. There a popup if you login to Virgin Money online about the changes.

55c per transaction. No more than 15 transactions per month. Still WAAY less than if I was with, say FNB for R40pm and their "free" incontact sms'
