Virtual ads in PS3 games

Almost everything that I have seen about ingame advertising, completely misses the point. Fact: Gamers, will ignore the artwork aka adverts, if they can get a quick kill.
The trick to ingame adverts is to provide for the gamers, something that they can value and or use in their gaming world.
Example: Roleplaying online game. Advertiser: Mr Price. Item Leather Jacket. Value to Gamer, +5 Arrow Protection. Value to Mr Price. Data from gamer using item, Data from item beening seen to be worn by gamer who is a success at a certain thing, ie creates a need to have a similar jacket. Boost Mr Price's brand name, in the real world by association.

Duracell batteris for Lightsabers, ingame laptops, cellphones, etc.

BillBoard and static adverts give only static information, while usage of advertised items will provide more data to possible buy trends.

Yea true. Like advertising on a wall Gamers just run past , not like they gonna stop and be like "Cool , New Strawberry Coke" and then keep playing :D

If they do, they'll likely die and RageQuit. Then take a machinegun to Coke and blame them.

I recall the first time I ever saw in-game advertising was in Sonic Adventure II. They advertised other Sega games and a certain brand of shoes on the walls in the cities and on billboards in-game.

So now that they will be getting advertising revenue, they have no excuse for the high prices of games.

please no advertising in games... I get enough product placement in movies as it is.
