Hi all

has anyone subscribed to virutalhackinglabs.com? They are relatively new labs on offer so not as well known.

i'm interested in connecting with people who may have joined or those thinking of joining.

I've seen the site and thought I would sign up for a few and check it out sometime, but haven't had a chance to do it yet. It's fairly cheap so I figure it might be worth checking out.

I do :) So not sure how challenging this virtual lab will be, but at $50 for one week, if it keeps me entertained for a day or two, it will still be worth it.
 
I got the 3 month sub for now. I needed something hands on before going for an official cert like oscp (which I have been putting off for a while now).
 
challenging enough for this n00b :-) but I would love to get a partner, local to SA ..even better!

Interesting. I think I might be looking to become more qualified in this area. Though Im not sure if I understand why you would lab your targets like this. Normally what I do, if I want to target an OS, I install the OS in a virtual machine and set it up as secure as possible myself. I do this so I also become more familiar with the operational methods of the target OS.

I would also think that if you are going to specifically target someone you would want to replicate their software ecosystem as much as possible in a VM so that lab testing is as close to field work as possible. Though I guess this kinda exposure will give you broad experience on working with systems you or eco-systems you have not dealt with or thought of dealing with.
 
its not south african owned. The company is from the netherlands. i've taken the course, its extremely good.
 
If people want to hack for free on a "safe network" go to https://www.hackthebox.eu/en and get past the registration challenge.

I am registered on there under username ActivateD. So lets get more South Africans in and form a team. Anyone interested in doing CTFs let me know I am keen.
 
Hi Guys - Im South African - looking to do my oscp next month - got a membership at virtual hacking labs if anyone is keen to connect and chat and maybe attempt some of my the labs would be great to discuss further... been studying ethical hacking on my own so would be good to know other south africans
