Virtual Reality Thread

I made some performance improvements since I played HL:A so I went back and picked it up again and..........damn. There’s just nothing else in VR that comes even close to that level of quality. It’s a VR playground in an incredible world with some major control innovations and great gameplay. When you try something like Robo Recall it just feels like a tech demo in comparison.

It’s massive fun.

First time your stick your hand on one of those health chargers and the controller pinches and vibrates according to the needles. I was truly thinking. “What the actual hell?” Your brain makes it more real.

Everything from the sound design to the interaction is absolutely superb.

Yes yes and absolutely yes!

The rush is more real. XD
do you play standing up or sitting? How do you move without walking physically. I get why they want to make some kind of treadmill, but so far all I've seen are people porting around rather than walking.

That one I'm playing sitting down with a simple xbox controller. AI had planned for VR but it was a early decision to scrap the idea with the half built ability inside to be exploited by mods.

They literally said it's to scary for VR. XD

Half-Life Alyx and other FPS stuff like VRC I'm normally standing with the VR controllers.

Normally these games have the option to holoport (teleport to areas) and switch on comfort turning where you'd snap into specific degree intervals, but after a year of VRC I'm kinda immune to the smooth motion thing.

It's a old game but I'm appreciating the music more and more now that I'm dof enough to do it in VR.

At 1:38 love the old slasher horror film tension. It really puts you on edge while throwing you objectives constantly crossing paths with this un killable xenomorph.

They did their homework with this.

Last night:

There was a lot of drinking before that so don't judge my excellent flying skills.

Holy ****!

Good news for some. You'll be getting a free silicon face cover and they're upgrading the 64GB version to 128GB, and it will go on sale for the same price.

I just received my Quest 2 last week as well, fantastic device! So far I'm just using it for PCVR games, don't plan on getting any Quest games. Wireless streaming works fantastic via Virtual Desktop, had some issues using the free Airlink that comes with it, so worth it spending the money on the app.

And Halflife Alyx is awesome!

Just think of the endless possibilities now- now for the first time its possible to really shag your computer

I can say this...

The world allowed furries to get their hands on these devices as a general household item first. I can guarantee you some of them are getting pretty... uhm... creative when it comes to developing haptic IO devices for these platforms.

People dig it.

Was a bit of a mission thus far but there's still some fine tuning required. Content is stupid difficult to keep in sync with everyone.
