Lo all and others,
We currently have a VM at IS, which hosts our application and data. In addition to this, we have another VM at Hetzner, which hosts our mailserver and from whence we manage DNS.
Anyway, we have ben having issues with IS where our machine has become unavailable every Friday afternoon at around the same time: 16:30... So we called IS in to discuss this and they turn around and tell us that our machine hung and required a reboot.. Bull, according to uptime!... Also, we have been asking about Attix5 solution that they use, and requested access as well as details about WHAT is being backed up, how we restore, SLA determined responsibilities, database backup techniques etc... with no response in 2 weeks. We KNOW the machine is running fine, but we just cant rely on IS anymore.
As a result, we are now looking for an alternate host.
We need:
A VM, with LOTS of space and root access.. basically. We insist on installing our own applications etc as we use CentOS 6 PostGreSQL, MySQL, Joomla and 4 other webapps..
Any ideas?
