Hi all my antivirus software (Trend Micro Internet Security 2008) is reporting malware after i installed this game on NAG's DVD of this Month....

E:\Free Stuff\Free MMOs\Gunz.exe

WORM_Generic.ADV

C:\Program Files\Gunz\GunzLauncher.exe

Regards

Let's hope the PC they authored that DVD on isn't the same PC NAG uses to maintain their customers bank account details (and let's hope it's also not connected to the net).

Oooops....

There are some threads about in on other forums, so it probably isn't NAG's fault. I can't get into those threads though.

On the bright side, Gunz is fun xD

Lydon.. u retard... haha :D

(Mods, its kay, we know each other... and I just had to call him that once on MyADSL) He knows I don't mean it.

hehe...

It doesn't sound that bad (サウンドして悪いことはない)

False positive. Notice the "Generic" part. This indicates that it has not been identified as a virus as such, but rather the code looks very virus-like. No need to worry.

There is a site somewhere where you can submit a file and then it runs it through all the common AVs and then you get a list of which ones flagged it and which ones didn't. Forgot the url, and I'm too lazy atm, so you'll have to hunt it down yourself.

I prefer http://virusscan.jotti.org/
or else I sometimes use www.virustotal.com.

Both of them sometimes giving scary results - like some of the big names not even detecting Any virus in the file I uploaded

You might want to check Gunz's forums.
It is quite possible that this is a false positive since code used in GunzLauncher.exe looks like worm code since it needs to connect to the internet and it neds to launch your gunz client, stuff that worms might do.. chat to servers over the internet, launch app and services, etc.
