Vista 64 NTOSKRNL.EXE missing

This happens because the system cannot find your system disk. Try these steps:

Unplug all your removable disks. Restart, see if it boots.
Check boot order in BIOS (make sure all your disks are there). Try again.
Physically remove all other disks, leaving only your system/boot disk. Reboot., try again.
Restart into recovery console, check the system disk for errors, attempt to recreate the boot loader.
Lastly, do a system repair....

From what I have read the boot.ini is corrupted but there is no boot.ini in Vista 64 or win 7

put your vista disk in and run the setup like normal and click on repair, if the boot is broken it will repair it.
